Elisabeth Hinckley
Elizabeth Hinckley held several in-house marketing positions including Vice President of Marketing at an international visual content company, before striking out on her own as a consultant and marketing copywriter advising fashion and accessory brands. In addition to teaching at FIDM, she writes the FIDM Museum Newsletter.
What brands are you currently working with?
I do PR & Publicity for Dogeared Jewels & Gifts and other accessories brands.
Describe a favorite class project.
I love our new Consumer Behavior project where student teams conduct deep research into a consumer lifestyle segment, such as body builders or new moms. I also really like the Brand Portfolio Analysis project where students dig into a successful brand in order to really understand the strategy and how the brand has been successful and relevant over time.
What is your teaching philosophy?
I am here to teach, not to grade. I try to listen to my students so that I can give them what they need and what I think they are looking for.
Elizabeth Hinckley is an Outstanding Faculty Award winner, an award given by the student body to outstanding faculty members.
